Taps - metric, inch, pipe thread
Tap – multi-edge cutting tool for making internal threads. The basic division of taps divides them into: machine and manual. Due to the high torsional forces that occur in the threading process, the basic material for the production of taps is HSS high-speed steel.
Taps have from 2 to 6 flutes depending on the diameter of the tool. They are manufactured with a taper towards the shank to prevent pinching in the hole and reduce tool friction.
