Hydraulic chucks are used to clamp tools with a cylindrical shank. They are characterized by a very high clamping force ensuring that the tool does not slip out during machining.
Hydraulic holders are a very precise way of fastening, ensuring runout up to max. 3µm. Compared to shrink chucks that provide similar clamping accuracy, hydraulic chucks are easier to install.
The tool is fixed by tightening the screw increasing the oil pressure in the system, which causes the holder to tighten on the tool.
