External turning tools
The turning tool is the basic equipment of every conventional lathe and CNC lathe. Currently, the largest part of lathe holders are – indexable inserts holders.
The turning tool consists of a steel body and a ground pocket for the cutting insert. The insert pocket is prepared for a specific size and geometry of the insert.
Turning tools have different insert clamping systems. The most popular methods of fastening:
using a screw, claw or pin.
